RF System Architecture & High-Power Amplification

Band partitioning, power architecture, protection philosophy, and control / monitoring design for RF high-power amplifier systems, delivered across two series — Commodore for defence and operational environments, and Commercial for telecommunications, research and commercial use.

Commodore Series

Defence / Operational
StandardDesigned and specified to MIL-STD-810F (environmental) and MIL-STD-461D (EMI/EMC)
EnvironmentDefence and operational conditions; environmental limits and qualification requirements depend on the selected product
Power rangeRF modules: 10–100 W. ARM I: up to 150 W HF / 60 W VHF
Frequency rangeRF module models: 20 MHz–7.5 GHz. ARM I: 1.6–59.99999 MHz
Product linesCommodore ARM I HF/VHF amplifier; 10–100 W RF amplifier modules in Commodore A and Commodore AB lines
DeliveryEngineer-owned, Australian-based. Short lead times, small-batch orders accepted, ITAR-free
Best forField, vehicle-mounted and operational defence environments

Commercial Series

Telecom / Research
StandardElectrical specifications correspond to the equivalent Commodore RF module models; refer to the selected model
EnvironmentStandard commercial environmental rating
Power range10–100 W across RF module models
Frequency range20 MHz–7.5 GHz across frequency-band models
Product linesCommercial RF amplifier modules: 10 W, 25 W, 50 W and 100 W
DeliveryBuilt to order, with the same local, direct-pricing delivery as Commodore
Best forTelecommunications, research, laboratory and commercial systems

Frequency and power ranges describe the product families, not the coverage of a single unit. RF delivery is tailored to the application, interfaces and agreed acceptance requirements. Specialist manufacturing and test partners support the programme where required, with LaserAegis coordinating technical requirements, integration and acceptance documentation.

Verification scope

What can be verified for RF amplifier systems

RF performance and pre-compliance verification are performed in-house. Formal EMC and environmental qualification is arranged with qualified or accredited facilities where required by the agreed programme scope.

RF performance

  • Frequency and output power
  • Gain and gain flatness
  • Harmonics and spurious emissions
  • Compression
  • VSWR and return loss
  • Efficiency and noise
  • Modulation, CW and pulsed operation
  • Thermal performance

EMC

  • Conducted and radiated emissions
  • Conducted and radiated susceptibility
  • ESD and transient testing where applicable
  • MIL-STD-461 requirements where specified

Environmental

  • Temperature and thermal cycling
  • Humidity
  • Vibration and mechanical shock
  • Altitude
  • Ingress and environmental sealing
  • Thermal stress

Process, documentation and support apply to every programme. See Engineering & Delivery.
